Hello neighbor, I'm Robert Vanderpool. 

I'm currently serving on the Olympia City Council in Position 6.

It is my honor to fight for tenant protections and workers' rights; secure millions in funds for safer streets and sidewalks; work on housing affordability and reducing barriers to building in our city, and much more.

Like you, I'm no stranger to hard work. I lived paycheck to paycheck in service and retail jobs, putting myself through school and completing a Masters in Public Administration at the Evergreen State College. I now work at the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries as a proud union member.

For many years, I paid rent as high as my mortgage and now live in a multi-generational household with my family. Whether you are tenant or a homeowner, I know you are probably paying more than you can afford. We are in an affordability crisis, and Olympia City Council in collaboration with our regional partners must act. And I will - because I care about Olympia right now, in 2045 and beyond.
